What CQC inspects for GP practices
General practice is inspected by CQC under the five key questions (safe, effective, caring, responsive, well-led), but the evidence categories that get the most weight in general practice differ from secondary care: significant-event audit records, prescribing-safety audits (especially for high-risk medication review), QOF and enhanced-services contract evidence, infection prevention and control audits, and the clinical-supervision evidence for sessional GPs, salaried GPs, and trainees.
GP practices satisfy several layers of regulator and commissioner in parallel: CQC for regulated activity, the General Medical Council for individual practitioner standards, NHS England (or the integrated care board) for contract terms, and the local medicines committee for prescribing standards. Verivius records the governance trail in one structured place so the records each body needs to see are consistent.

- Complaints categorisation routing into the NHS complaints process (PHSO escalation path tracked) alongside private complaints.
- Safeguarding referral records with the GP-specific child-protection and adult-safeguarding workflows.
- Training matrix templates for GP practice roles (GPs, practice nurses, healthcare assistants, prescribing clerks, practice managers, reception) with the CPD tracking individual professional bodies require.
- Mock Inspection methodology adapted for general-practice evidence categories.
Status: in active build
The GP sector setup is being built as part of the v1 expansion. Verivius v1 currently ships for independent secondary care providers; GP is one of the seven sectors being added before the first paying GP customer is onboarded.
