Verivius for Adult Social Care

CQC governance for care homes, domiciliary care, and supported living, built around the safeguarding-heavy evidence categories adult social care actually needs.

What CQC inspects for adult social care

Adult social care services (care homes, domiciliary care agencies, supported living, extra care housing) are inspected by CQC under the five key questions (safe, effective, caring, responsive, well-led), but the weighting and the evidence focus differ from healthcare in important ways.

Safeguarding evidence sits heavier in ASC than in healthcare settings: more vulnerable adults, more deprivation-of- liberty considerations, more Mental Capacity Act decision records. Care planning and person-centred-care evidence are inspected categories in their own right. Notification duties under Regulation 18 of the Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009 apply, with the additional adult-social-care-specific categories around death of a service user and serious safeguarding incidents.

ASC providers also satisfy local authority safeguarding boards, contracting authorities, and (for many providers) integrated care boards. Verivius records the governance trail in one structured place so what each of those bodies needs to see is consistent.

What the Verivius ASC sector setup will cover

The ASC sector setup is the social-care-specific content that comes pre-loaded into your account on top of the core Verivius platform. It will include:

  • ASC-specific incident categories (falls, medication errors, pressure injuries, choking incidents, safeguarding referrals).
  • Mental Capacity Act decision records and best-interest meeting documentation.
  • Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) authorisation tracking, urgent and standard.
  • Care plan review cycles with the person-centred-care evidence categories the framework asks for.
  • Local authority safeguarding board notification templates, alongside the CQC Regulation 18 notification path.
  • Training matrix templates for ASC roles (registered nurses, senior carers, care assistants, activities coordinators) with the mandatory-training cycle (e.g. moving and handling, dementia care, end-of-life care).
  • Mock Inspection methodology adapted for ASC evidence categories.

Status: live

The ASC sector setup is live in Verivius v1. The taxonomy (safeguarding categories, MCA + DoLS, restrictive practice, clinical incidents, complaints), frameworks (Care Act 2014 s.42 referrals, CQC notifications, Duty of Candour), and assurance calendar (LOLER 6-monthly, DoLS authorisation renewals, training matrix) are populated and verified against primary regulatory sources. You can sign up directly and have the ASC content loaded into your account from day one.
